• Bamboo Five is tucked into a quiet residential area in Ōrākei — close enough to the city for convenience, but just far enough to feel like you’ve stepped away from it all.

The space is private, peaceful, and intentionally off the beaten path — a hidden pocket made for slowing down.

Because of the nature of the work we do here, the exact address isn’t publicly listed. Sessions are by appointment only, and we don’t accept walk-ins — this ensures the environment stays calm, focused, and uninterrupted for those visiting. Once your booking is confirmed, full details will be shared.

  • There’s no fixed pricing because there’s no one-size-fits-all model. Fees vary depending on the type of session, frequency, and whether you're integrating multiple offerings.

Those who visit regularly are encouraged and rewarded — not just in price, but in progress. If you're attending martial arts classes, for example, you’ll receive discounted access to bonsai workshops or mobility sessions, and vice versa.

We don't believe in transactional drop-ins once a week. The greatest benefits come with consistency, commitment, and presence — not when you’re clocking in and out.

  • In Chinese philosophy, what’s often considered "air" in the West is more deeply understood as Qi (氣) — the breath of life, or vital energy that moves through and animates all things.

The Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water — aren’t just physical substances. They represent qualities of transformation, states of being, and relationships in nature. Qi flows through all five, connecting and animating them. So while "air" isn't one of the five, it's very much a part of the system — as the space between, the breath within, the energy that moves.

  • Because nothing — and no one — is ever just one thing.

Martial arts, for example, can be Fire in a striking-intensive discipline like Karate. But Wing Chun may reflect Metal in its precision, or Water in its fluid adaptability.
Bonsai might appear as Wood for growth and expansion, yet also Earth for stability and grounded attention.

At Bamboo Five, we don’t box things into rigid labels, but rather, let nature guide us. Each session reflects different elements depending on how you move, how you feel, and what you're working through. The elements are not categories. They’re mirrors.

  • Yes — children are welcome as long as they’re mature enough to respect the space and the practice. This isn’t a daycare or playground. It’s a quiet, intentional space designed for focused learning, self-discipline, and exploration — for people of all ages who are ready to engage.

  • Not at all.

You don’t need to be fit, flexible, or strong. Many of our clients are well into their 60s.

You just need to be open, curious, and ready to begin from where you are.

  • Wear whatever allows you to move freely and breathe easily. Comfort and mobility matter more than matching sets.

Please don’t dress just to be seen. Our mirrors are not for selfies. Bring a water bottle, an open mind, and a willingness to be fully present.

We’ll let you know what’s essential based on your chosen practice.
